Fireovid: Support the SAVE Act for election integrity

True Americans in Vermont can help pass the SAVE America Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility). Here’s what the SAVE America Act will do…

• requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
• requires states to establish an alternative process under which an applicant may submit other evidence to demonstrate U.S. citizenship.
• states must take affirmative steps on an ongoing basis to ensure that only U.S. citizens are registered to vote, which shall include establishing a program to identify individuals who are not U.S. citizens using information supplied by certain sources.
• states must remove noncitizens from their official lists of eligible voters.
• establishes criminal penalties for certain offenses, including registering an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.
• allows for a private right of action against an election official who registers an applicant to vote in a federal election who fails to present documentary proof of U.S. citizenship.
• requires that voters in federal elections present an eligible photo identification document, and voters who vote by absentee ballot must submit a copy of their identification document with both the request for, and the submission of, the absentee ballot.

Sounds reasonable, right? But Democrats are fighting it tooth and nail, and making up false excuses to justify their opposition.  Maybe because the way our elections are currently managed, the United States is effectively run by organized crime. 

The SAVE Act passed by the narrowest of margins in the House of Representatives, where only one Democrat (Rep. Henry Cuellar – TX), voted in favor of the bill. But it also needs to be passed by the Senate, where the vote will again be very close. Sen. John Fetterman (PA) is the only Democrat who said that he will vote for it. However, the two TDS-infested Republican Senators – Murkowski (AL) and Collins (ME) say that they will vote against it. 

You can help by phoning the last two Senators who have not come out in support of the SAVE Act – Sen. Mitch McConnel (KY) and Sen. John Thune (S.D.).

Thune is also the Senate Majority Leader and will manage how the Senate will vote on the SAVE Act. Ask him to (1) vote for the SAVE Act and (2) do everything he can to bring the SAVE Act to the floor for a straight up-down vote as soon as possible.  In addition, you can call Sen. McConnell and especially Sen. Thune daily.  Be respectful.
