Cited and released after found with 1,100 bags of fentanyl

A Colchester couple were cited and released Friday after police allegedly found them with 1,100 bags of fentanyl in Brattleboro.

State police say they observed a motor vehicle violation and conducted a stop on the vehicle on I-91 north at around 12:40 p.m..

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Melinda Morgan, 41, of Colchester, and the passenger was identified as Dale Taylor, 39, of Colchester. Police say they were in possession of 1,100 glassine bags containing suspected fentanyl as well as crack/cocaine base and multiple firearms.

Both were arrested and transported to the Westminster barracks for processing. They were issued a citation and released to appear in court on August 29.

Woman in hospital gown arrested on warrant – Police arrested a Cabot woman for ‘absconding from furlough’ after she was found in a hospital gown at the Hobby Lobby store in the Berlin Mall Sunday.

Berlin police were called to the store for a report of a woman in a hospital gown acting suspiciously. They confirmed that Amanda Belville, 38, of Cabot had an active arrest warrant issued by the Vermont Department of Corrections for absconding from furlough. She was taken into custody and transferred to the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of bail. 

DUI   A 57-year-old man from Chester was arrested following an incident in Andover on Friday. Authorities say they were notified of an intoxicated person at the campground on Weston Andover Road at around 9:50 p.m. Lester Anderson was arrested for driving under the influence , criminal refusal, and driving with a criminally suspended license.nHe was ordered to be held on $500 bail at Southern State Correctional Facility. – Newport Dispatch
