On June 2, at 9:47 PM Burlington Police and Fire were called to Main Street at the intersection of South Willard Street for a motorcycle versus car crash.
Officers found a serious crash involving a 2026 Kawasaki Ninja ZX 6R and a 2016 Subaru Outback. The operator of the motorcycle was transported from the scene to the
University of Vermont Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
The operator of the car involved was identified along with a few independent witnesses – no one else was injured in the crash. Initial investigation has identified the speed of the motorcycle as a contributing factor in the crash.
Tunbridge school fire ruled accidental – A small fire inside an art classroom at Tunbridge Central School on Monday night was quickly extinguished by responding firefighters and has been ruled accidental, authorities said.
The Tunbridge Fire Department was notified at approximately 9:40 PM on June 2, 2026, after a fire alarm activated at the school. Firefighters from Tunbridge and Chelsea responded to the scene, along with First Branch Ambulance.
Upon arrival, crews located a small fire in an art classroom and were able to suppress it before it spread. One person suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by First Branch Ambulance.
The investigation found no evidence of suspicious activity and determined the fire was accidental. According to investigators, the blaze started when combustible materials were placed too close to a pottery kiln that was in use.
No information on the extent of damage to the classroom was immediately available.
Six people threatened by man in public place – A 64-year-old Starksboro man was cited on a charge of aggravated disorderly conduct following a disturbance Tuesday afternoon.
According to Vermont State Police, troopers responded at about 4:20 PM June 2 to a report of a disturbance outside a residence on Lazy Brook Drive.
An investigation determined that David Hold, 64, of Starksboro allegedly engaged in violent, tumultuous and threatening behavior directed at specific individuals in a public place.
The alleged victims were identified as Alec Conn, 29, Marissa Conn, 26, Haley Barnes, 25, and three juveniles, all of Starksboro.
Hold was issued a citation to appear in the Criminal Division of Addison County Superior Court at a later date to answer the charge.
