The crash occurred at 3:54 PM on Plunkton Road near its intersection with Southview Road. Police said the 16-year-old driver, also from Duxbury, was traveling south at a high rate of speed in a 2006 Subaru Impreza when the vehicle went out of control while rounding a curve.

The Subaru left the right side of the gravel road and struck a tree, causing extensive damage to the passenger-side door and frame.

The driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
Police have not released the names of either juvenile. The investigation remains ongoing.
