House member Rob North atypically (for him) wore a green sequined blazer Tuesday, January 13 on House photo day, which is also equity and diversity training day. He noted that the house decorum rules are frequently pushed by flamboyant dressers, including he Burlington House member who walked Gov. Scott into the House Chamber at last week’s State of the State while wearing a cape.
“Democrats and Progressives aren’t the only ones who can sport the bling. Republicans can too. We can shine a bright light in the State House,” North said.
North made quite a splash when he walked into the State House cafeteria today. Will Greer of Bennington (D), hands-down the flashiest dresser in the State House (Rep. Brian Cina gets honorable mention), took one look at North and said ‘You’ve outdone me today, Rob!”
North told VDC that some members of the Legislature have been pushing the envelope on the decorum rules set down by House leadership. Hear the usually buttoned-down North explain:
