The Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA is oh-so-close for a team from Essex Town.
Essex beat Bedford, New Hampshire Saturday to earn a spot in tonight’s New England regional game. The Chittenden County team was an unlikely winner of the Vermont tournament, falling to Brattleboro in the opening round only to come back in the final game and beat the same squad 4-0 on Saturday, July 26.
Braintree American (Team Massachusetts) and Essex Town (Team Vermont) will play Monday, Aug. 4 at 9 a.m. (ESPN) for a spot in the New England Regional championship on Thursday, Aug. 7 on ESPN.
The loser will play Bedford (Team New Hampshire) in the semifinals on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m.
