A Johnson man and a Springfield, Massachusetts resident are behind bars following a Tuesday drug raid that capped a months-long narcotics investigation in Vermont’s Lamoille County.
Vermont State Police Drug Task Force detectives and the Tactical Services Unit executed a search warrant at a Johnson residence on June 2, arresting James Mason, 47, and Danarius Davis, 23, on a slate of drug charges that includes fentanyl trafficking, cocaine sales, and conspiracy.
Mason, a Johnson resident, faces the heavier charge sheet — three counts of cocaine sale, cocaine possession, fentanyl trafficking, and conspiracy — reflecting his apparent central role in what investigators described as a drug distribution network operating in the Lamoille County area. Davis, who traveled from Springfield, faces cocaine sale, fentanyl trafficking, and conspiracy charges.
Both men were processed at the Vermont State Police Williston Barracks and ordered held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility after each failed to post $5,000 bail. They are scheduled to appear for arraignment Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. before the Vermont Superior Court, Lamoille Criminal Division.
The investigation drew support from multiple agencies, including the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, Morristown Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI. Both men are being prosecuted by the Lamoille County State’s Attorney’s Office.
