Hartford CT man nabbed in big St. J drug bust

A St. Johnsbury man and woman are facing domestic assault charges after hospital staff discovered a three-month-old infant with multiple fractures and bruises.
In May, the Vermont State Police and the Department for Children and Families began investigating the infant’s injuries. The child was examined at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where medical staff documented the injuries.
Following the investigation, Justin Lamotte, 24, and Jazmyn Walker, 22, both of St. Johnsbury, were cited to appear in Caledonia County Court on Sept. 15 to answer the charges. The Vermont State Police do not release the names of victims of domestic violence.
Habitual offender jailed without bail after police say he trashed woman’s apartment – A St. Johnsbury man is being held without bail after police said he trashed a woman’s apartment and took her property.
On the morning of July 25, St. Johnsbury police responded to a report of an altercation. The victim told officers that Stephen MacNevins, 45, threw items around her apartment and, when she attempted to call police, took her phone and several sets of keys before leaving.
Officers later learned MacNevins had returned to his apartment. Police surrounded the building, but he refused to come out. Shortly before noon, Officer James McGowan took MacNevins into custody after a brief struggle.
MacNevins was charged with aggravated disorderly conduct, interference with access to emergency services, larceny from a person, habitual offender, and six counts of violating release conditions related to curfew, motor vehicle operation, and violent behavior. A judge ordered him held without bail.
Police are searching for the man at left who is suspected of stealing the pickup truck at right and using it in a retail theft and an attempted ramming of a state police cruiser.
Police seek driver of stolen truck after attempt to ram cruiser – Vermont State Police are asking the public for help in finding the driver of a stolen pickup who allegedly tried to ram a state police cruiser.
The vehicle, a blue Chevrolet truck with Vermont registration 404A638, was reported stolen and was involved in a retail theft from Bisbee’s Hardware in Waitsfield on the evening of Aug. 12. The next day, troopers were told the truck had returned to the area.
When troopers from the Berlin barracks located the truck, the driver attempted to ram a marked cruiser before fleeing south on VT Route 100B toward Waitsfield. Police did not pursue the vehicle.

Big drug bust with Hartford, CT connection – Four people face cocaine trafficking charges following a months-long Vermont Drug Task Force investigation into drug distribution in Orleans, Lamoille, and Caledonia counties.
On Aug. 12, the task force and Vermont State Police Tactical Service Unit executed a search warrant on Higgins Hill Road in St. Johnsbury, recovering suspected narcotics and firearms. Arrested were Andy Dwyer, 38, Amber Wood, 30, and William Mitchell, 59, all of St. Johnsbury, and Kamrim McKain, 23, of Hartford, Conn.
McKain faces four counts of cocaine sales and was held on $100,000 bail. Dwyer and Wood face multiple counts, including cocaine sales and aiding in a felony, and were each held on $50,000 bail. Mitchell was cited for cocaine sales and released.
