This makes me thoroughly sick! How about St Albans appointing a warden that KNOWS something about dogs?
1.) ANY animal behaviorist or reputable dog trainer will tell that city that animal aggression & human aggression have ZERO to do with one another…that dog is as likely to bite a child as is ANY dog.
2.) Dogs are: PREDATORS! It is NORMAL for them to chase and kill small prey animals if not supervised – this is normal behavior and does NOT make them a “killer”!
3.) This dog did not bite that woman – the dog’s tooth grazed her finger as she STUCK her own HAND into his mouth to get him to release the rabbit.
The fault here lies with the irresponsible OWNER, and NOT the dog. Yet an innocent animal is being put down for NO good reason (it needs to be re-homed) & the owner has received NOTHING – no fine, (a “warning” is not a fine), nada.
GREAT JOB, St. Albans! Your dog warden was OBVIOUSLY a political appointee.
And by the way, that’s not a mixed breed as you proclaim either – it appears (from the one photo) to be an American Bulldog – used often as “catch” dogs in the south.
Have your warden look it up, while he’s also looking up an animal behaviorist to PROPERLY evaluate that poor dog.
