Newly elected Vermont Lieutenant Governor John Rodgers visited Norwich University on Saturday, January 18, conducting the ceremonial puck drop during the men’s hockey intrastate rivalry game between the Norwich University Cadets and visiting Vermont State University – Castleton Spartans.
Upon their arrival on campus, the Lieutenant Governor and his wife, Brenda, were greeted by William Kolb and Cadet Forrester Belanger, two Norwich University students currently serving as interns in the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
The interns proudly walked the couple throughout the athletic facilities at Norwich University, including taking time to watch Coach Ute Otley and the Norwich women’s basketball team’s game. Throughout the tour, elements of Norwich’s rich history and deep Vermont connections were discussed.
The Lieutenant Governor was welcomed to campus by LtGen John Broadmeadow, USMC (Ret), 25th President of Norwich University, prior to the ceremonial puck drop.
