A 32-year-old Fletcher man was arrested late Tuesday after allegedly impersonating a police officer and threatening a woman during a road rage incident in Westford, Vermont State Police said.
Police said Corban Thallon intentionally stopped his vehicle in front of a car driven by Betty Wheeler, 62, of Fairfax at about 11:20 p.m. on Vermont Route 128, blocking her ability to continue traveling.
Investigators said Thallon was dressed and acted as if he were a law enforcement officer and aggressively approached Wheeler while keeping his hand over a firearm on his person. Following a verbal confrontation, Thallon returned to his vehicle and drove north.
Troopers later located Thallon’s vehicle on Pond Road in Fletcher and conducted a traffic stop. He was taken into custody and transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.
Thallon was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, to answer charges of criminal threatening, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and impersonating a law enforcement officer.
