One-minute audio commentary, ‘Just A Minute’
Yesterday, I and every other reporter in the Vermont State House wrote about how the House impeachment panel created by House Speaker Jill Krowinski is unlikely to impeach Franklin County Sheriff John Grismore because, they said Tuesday, his offenses happened before he was elected.
This afternoon, I heard from my old buddy Steve, a frequent reader of the Vermont Daily Chronicle. Said Steve:
“Are you telling me the witch-hunt of Grismore conjured up by the Speaker, led by representatives Martin Lalonde and Mike McCarthy, held in secret behind closed doors, took over a year before they realized they couldn’t impeach him under existing law or conjure up other counts? Yikes, even I knew the supposed event occurred prior to him being duly elected by his voters.
Well, Steve – I think that is what they’re saying. When I’m in the State House tomorrow I hope to ask one of them. Stay tuned.
