On the morning of Friday’s planned anti-ICE ‘funeral procession’ in Williston, Homeland Security stated that nationwide, Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees from January – October of this year are ‘associated’ with 52,000 crimes in the neighboring state of New York – including 131 homicides.

Funeral procession organizers claim that 102 people have died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody or as a result of ICE actions nationwide since January, 2025.

ICE Out Vermont Alliance, a statewide coalition of community, faith-based, and activist organizations, will hold a funeral procession and nonviolent sit-in in Williston on Friday, November 6, in remembrance of what it claims are more than 100 people who have died at the hands of ICE since January 2025.“Since January 2025, 102 people that we’ve been able to identify have died directly as a result of ICE enforcement actions or while in ICE custody. These victims include children as young as 3 years old and adults as old as 85 years,” said ICE Out VT organizer Drew Hudson.

The ICE Out website states that ‘”upon arrival at Harvest Lane, there will be a  brief funeral service for those who have been killed or died while in detention, a press conference, and a participatory mock trial focused on the atrocities committed by ICE. At the conclusion of these events individuals willing to risk arrest, who are trained in non-violent direct action and a member of an affinity group, will participate in a sit-in at 188 Harvest Lane. This action will strictly adhere to nonviolent principles. Other participants are invited to express their support, legally, at a designated area adjacent to the sit-in.”

Homeland Security, for its part, says its work has taken killers off the streets – and would remove more violent criminals from American society if ‘sanctuary states’ like New York would hand over violent criminals with ICE detainers.

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) this morning released the following statement after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged a detainer asking authorities in New York City not to release an illegal alien accused of raping a 28-year-old woman.

On November 3, 2026, ICE lodged a detainer for Reynaldo Hoel Mayna, a criminal illegal alien from Peru, following his arrest by the New York City Police Department. His criminal history includes anal rape – strongarm, assault with a deadly weapon, forcible touching: touching sexual/intimate parts of another person, and sexual abuse – 3rd degree.

On August 18, 2023, the U.S. Border Patrol arrested Mayna after he illegally entered the country near San Diego. He was then RELEASED into the country by the Biden Administration.

“This illegal alien’s criminal history includes anal rape – strongarm, assault with a deadly weapon, forcible touching: touching sexual/intimate parts of another person, and third-degree sexual abuse, yet sanctuary politicians in New York invited this vile criminal into their community,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “Sanctuary politicians have handcuffed their law enforcement and are allowing criminal activity to thrive, while the American people become less safe. Underneath President Trump, we are restoring law and order in our cities, in our towns, and in our states, despite what happens with career politicians that put criminals in front of law-abiding citizens.”

The latest ICE data reveals that from January 20, 2025, to October 8, 2026, 16,070 detainers were not honored by the state of New York. There are 52,503 total criminal charges and convictions associated with these detainers, including:

New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani signed an Executive Order turning New York City into a shield for violent criminal illegal aliens to reoffend and create more innocent victims.

In December 2025, then-Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons sent a letter to New York Attorney General Letitia James, along with the attorneys general of California and Illinois, putting her on notice for the state’s failure to honor ICE detainers. In response, New York Governor Kathy Hochul punished local law enforcement who did cooperate with ICE by proposing legislation that would bar local police departments from partnering and cooperating with ICE law enforcement, which she signed into law in May 2026. The law took effect on August 25, 2026.

Under Governor Hochul, New York has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime, Homeland Security said on Friday. Some of the recent illegal alien crimes in the sanctuary state include:

In addition to the crimes committed by illegal aliens in New York, the state’s sanctuary policies have had disastrous consequences in other states as well. These include:
