Friends of Craig Bensen to gather Saturday

Rev. Craig Bensen (center) with Rev. Rick Menard (left) and Guy Page

Family and friends of Rev. Craig Bensen are invited to celebrate his life, legacy and consider how to continue his work at 2 PM, Saturday, August 21 at Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly on Rte. 100 in Waterbury Center.

Rev. Bensen, longtime pastor of Cambridge United Church, an advisor to Vermont’s Christian leaders, and himself a leader of Christians united to take stands on several social/government matters, died last November.

Several speakers will address Craig’s life and work passions.  In addition to honoring him in his service to Vermont and beyond, his widow Deb Bensen hopes the service will facilitate the “Passing of the Baton” to others inspired to carry on His work.  After the service light snacks and beverages will be available so people can mingle and connect.  Weather permitting fellowship will be outside, so feel free to bring your own lawn chair.

In lieu of flowers financial gifts for Deb may be sent to the following address:  Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly, PO Box 188 Waterbury Center, VT   05677.  Please reference Deb Bensen’s name on the memo line of check.

An RSVP is appreciated to assist us with planning this most important event by aiding us in determining the best set up of chairs and refreshments. Here is a zoom link for those who cannot attend in person but wish to see the Celebration.  Meeting ID:  84407517105. Passcode: 441467.

  1. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend. I have a meeting in Glens Falls, NY at 12pm. Craig was one of the best representatives of Christian principles to the Montpelier legislature. We will miss him terribly. My condolences to his wife Deb who I know misses him terribly.
