Ericka Redic Show #2: gun carrying ban won’t prevent crime

In the second week of the new Vermont Daily video production, “The Ericka Redic Show,” host Ericka Redic reports on S30, a bill to ban carrying firearms in some public places. Its sponsor says it’s more necessary than ever because of more and more gun-toting citizens don’t want to wear masks and are intimidating those who ask them to do so.

This seven-minute video is a ‘must watch” for anyone interested in the Legislature’s determination to restrict firearms rights. As one Vermont Daily commentor said today: “If you stick with it, The Ericka Redic Show moniker is, in my humble opinion, destined to be recognized, by Vermonters at least, right up there with such national notables as the late Larry King and Paul Harvey. Your presentation on gun control was exceptional – clear and concise. Don’t change a thing.”

  2. I watched the Senate hearing, and I can not understand how anybody could arrive at a different conclusion than Ms. Redic. As Evan Hughes would say “this bill is a solution looking for a problem.” We here in Vermont do not have a problem with firearms. There are 49 other states that would love to have the same non-problem as Vermont. Bottom line, just because you can’t explain the absence of a problem, don’t assume that it is inevitable that we will have to deal with it eventually, and that the people need your to heed your ability to see the future to change it’s course. In other words “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it !”

  3. There is no need for any gun control anywhere, especially Vermont. The 2nd amendment of the US Constitution and article16 of the Vermont Constitution clearly state this! Attacks on these rights is only to develope the new normal that is against everything Americans love! The right to Life,Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness through hard work! We also have the right to defend these rights and our lives!anything less than this is unconstitutional and unnecessary!!

  4. S30 is not needed in VT for the reasons explained by Senators Valerio,
Benning and Chris Bradley. Vt has one of the lowest crime rates in the nation and does not need our rights being infringed upon.
