A VDC news story published January 2 incorrectly stated, in a statement attributed to Ben Kinsley of the Campaign for Vermont, that Sen. Martine Gulick (D-Chittenden) was a lobbyist for the Vermont School Board Association (VSBA). In fact, Sen. Gulick serves as an unpaid regional representative on the VSBA Board of Directors, representing the Western Chittenden Region. Members of the VSBA’s Board of Directors do not receive remuneration from the VSBA, a VSBA spokesperson said.
The spokesperson also said the VSBA is a non-profit member association with the following mission: Develop and provide systems and resources that support school boards and their members, informed through inclusive community engagement.
VDC publishes clarifications and corrections promptly upon receipt of relevant information.
