SWAT teams hit suspected drug dens in town of Washington

Vermont State Police are seeking Jermaine A. Morris, 41, of Jeffersonville, who was involved in an April 18 road rage incident on Edwards Road. 

Morris allegedly physically assaulted the other operator and fired multiple rounds while chasing the victim in his vehicle.

Police have been searching for Morris since the reported road-rage incident on April 18. This week, a judge issued a warrant for Morris’ arrest on the above charges connected to that incident.

Police say crimes committed include aggravated assault, aggravated disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, negligent operation, possession of a dangerous weapon during a commission of a felony, and negligent use of a gun.

SWAT team drug bust ongoing – Multiple local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are executing federal search warrants and arrest warrants Friday morning, May 13, 2022, as part of an investigation into drug trafficking and firearms possession in the town of Washington.

Participating agencies include the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the FBI; Homeland Security Investigations; the Vermont State Police; and the Barre City and Montpelier police departments. 

The warrant execution includes tactical teams from the ATF and Vermont State Police. The operation is occurring at two residences, one located along Vermont Route 110, and the other in a trailer home community on Donna Lane.

Serial burglar in Burlington – Police are seeking a white male of skinny build they believe has perpetrated serial daytime burglaries in the Hill Section and South End of Burlington, targeting homes with jewelry and valuable heirlooms. Total value of the items is over $100,000, police say. 

Man pleads innocent to hitting teen with truck, abandoning him in ravine – Yesterday afternoon, Parker Clark, 20, of Craftsbury was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted second-degree murder, grossly negligent operation with serious bodily injury resulting, and two counts related to DUI. He was ordered detained without bail.

Police say Clark was doing donuts in a Craftsbury parking lot when he struck Tyler Friend, 19, who was standing in the parking lot. Clark loaded Friend into his truck where he drove him to a remote farm off S. Albany Road in Craftsbury, drove across a cornfield to the woods line, dragged/carried Friend over a small ravine and down into a slow-moving creek. Clark got back into his truck and got stuck in the mud, rendering him unable to leave. Clark subsequently returned to Friend in the wooded ravine and pulled/carried him back out before making his way to the local farm to call for help.

Friend remains in critical condition at Dartmouth-Hitchcock hospital.
