Burlington transients arrested for Montpelier Tractor Supply burglary

Montpelier police arrested two people early Friday morning after an overnight burglary at a River Street business, while Vermont State Police reported multiple DUI and domestic assault cases across the state in recent days.

Montpelier Police Department officers responded shortly after midnight Jan. 2, to a burglar alarm at the Tractor Supply store on River Street/U.S. Route 302, where they found signs of forced entry and encountered two suspects exiting the building. Andre Ratcliff, 32, and Amy Dike, 42, both listed as transient and formerly of Burlington, were taken into custody without incident and found in possession of a large quantity of stolen merchandise and burglary tools, police said. 

Ratcliff was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail, and Dike was lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $12,500 bail, pending arraignment in Washington County Superior Court. Both are expected to face multiple charges including burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, unlawful mischief and retail theft.
