70-year-old arrested, jailed for child sex crimes

Lyndonville man has 2011 child sex crime conviction

A Depot St., Lyndonville man was arrested Feb. 3 on two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Child, three counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to a Minor in the Presence of a Mino, and one count of Luring a Child, state police say. 

Vermont State Police and Department for Children and Families began an investigation on February 3 after mandated reporters notified police/DCF that Edward Cram, 70, of Lyndonville was suspected of sexual crimes against a juvenile victim.  

At the conclusion of the investigation, Cram was charged with the offenses above.  Cram was arrested and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.  He was subsequently transported to Northeast Correctional Complex where he was ordered held without bail, pending a Feb. 11 court date. 

On Offenderradar.com, Cram is listed as 6’4″, 310 lbs., and has a 2011 conviction for attempted L&L with a child under 13.

Two found dead in car – 9:25 PM on Friday, February 14, state police responded to a report of grey Hyundai Elantra parked on VT Route 14 in Brookfield for an extended period of time. Troopers found two dead people sitting in the vehicle. They identified a 59-year-old female and a 63-year-old male.  Preliminary investigation does not indicate that the death is suspicious.  An autopsy will be performed at the Vermont Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington to determine the cause and manner of death.

Riding bike on Interstate – Just after noon on Friday, February 14, state troopers responded to Interstate 89 South, in South Burlington after several 911 calls were received about a male riding a bicycle in the passing lane. Troopers say they De’anta Dix, 38, of Winooski riding his bicycle in the passing lane before cutting across the travel lane, impeding traffic. 

Dix was uncooperative with troopers’ attempts to provide him with a ride off the interstate and was ultimately placed under arrest. Dix was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing and released with a citation to appear in court for disorderly conduct.

47-year-old woman clocked at 103 MPH – State police say that on 4 PM, Saturday February 15 they clocked a South Burlington woman driving 103 miles per hour on I-89 in Colchester. Cindy Arnold was issued a citation to appear in court on a charge of Negligent Operation, and was given a ticket with a penalty of 2 points and $572.

Town plow truck stolen, crashed – Vermont State Police are searching for a suspect who stole a plow truck from the Westfield Town garage early Friday morning and later crashed it near the Eden-Lowell town line.

The dump truck was reported stolen around 3:25 a.m. and was later spotted traveling on Vermont Route 100 near its intersection with Route 100C in Eden. Police said the vehicle went off the road after heading north on Route 100.

Witnesses reported seeing a male suspect exit the truck and enter a white sedan, which continued northbound. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks at 802-334-8881.
