Letter from the Publisher

To our readers: your help needed

Dear Vermont Daily Chronicle reader:

First, I want to thank you for another vibrant week of news reporting and reading. The number of subscribers, daily views, daily visitors, and commenters continue to go up, up, and away. You’re super! Your enthusiasm for freedom in its many expressions inspires me.

Guy Page, Editor and Publisher

At the Celebrate Freedom event Saturday, September 11, two couples asked me how Vermont Daily Chronicle operates financially. I told them that at present we have two revenue streams: advertisers and grateful readers.

The box “display” advertising costs between $10 and $18 per day. If you know a business or organization that would like to help both themselves and Vermont Daily Chronicle, we invite you to contact us at news@vermontdailychronicle.com or contact advertising manager Rebekah Perry at rebekah.perry@zohomail.com. To learn more about our advertising package, click here.

Many subscribers choose to say ‘thank you’ for our free, unique news reporting by donating on a one-time or monthly basis. I cannot describe how much your financial support – often accompanied by an encouraging note – stiffens my spine to maintain and grow our online daily newspaper. If you wish to join this team of financial supporters, there are two ways:

  • PayPal. Click on this link on our website, then click on the yellow DONATE button in the middle of the page. That will bring you to our PayPal site. You may choose a one-time or monthly gift. Many, many thanks for your contribution.
  • A Check. Please send to Vermont Daily Chronicle, P.O. Box 1547, Montpelier, Vermont, 05601.

I probably don’t mention our ongoing revenue needs often enough. Maybe I’m worried about asking too often, or I’m just too preoccupied with publishing as much news as possible, every day. Maybe both. Regardless, the need is real. For whatever you can do, we thank you!

Free Speech Forever,

  1. Just donated. That so many Americans want to get rid or alter our Constitution, or dismiss our first two amendments, doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy. Am reading Carl Sandburg’s Pulitzer Prize winning biography on Abraham Lincoln. The second volume, The War Years, reminds me quite a bit of our America today. Lincoln has been in office for only a month and Fort Sumter has already fallen. The Confederates want to secede from the Union. Not comparing Sleepy Joe to Lincoln. I wouldn’t compare ANYBODY to President Lincoln, but “I see a bad moon arising…I see trouble on its way….”

  2. Thank you is not enough to express how grateful Pete and I are that you go the extra mile to dig deep to get the truth out about so much we care about. Truth telling is love in action so that others can do the same. You’re a special man “Charlie Brown”! In our prayers!
