Road rage stopped by I-89 rock ledge

A 25-year-old man driving a Jeep Wrangler and a 58-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla were both cited for driving violations after ‘road rage’ sent them both into rock ledges on I-89 in Chittenden County on the morning of June 25.

At 6:35 AM Troopers from the Vermont State Police Williston barracks were notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries on I89 southbound at mile marker 102/64.

They found two vehicles at a position of uncontrolled rest blocking a portion of both lanes. Griffin Lestage of Fairfax had been driving a Jeep Wrangler. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was Richard Lambert of Richford.

Witnesses said Lestage and Lambert were in a road rage for several miles before the crash. While both vehicles were traveling at a high rate of speed in the passing lane, Lestage contacted Lambert’s rear bumper causing both vehicles to lose control and collide with the rock ledges.

Both operators were transferred to UVM Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Vermont State Police and Milton Fire were able to open a small portion of the roadway allowing traffic through while both vehicles were removed. Due to both operator’s erratic behavior, each operator was cited for Unreasonable and imprudent speed. Lestage was also cited Following Too Closely and Careless and Negligent Operation.

  1. This type of thing never used to happen in VT – it was an urban phenomenon. Between the influx of out-of-staters (not ALL of course, but a select group), decreases in ‘ol VT tolerance & civility (thanks to our divisive media, social media, & political in-fighting) as well as overwhelming Godlessness – people are no longer balanced & nerves are on edge.

KEEP CALM, CARRY ON, GIVE IT UP TO GOD.

  2. New meaning to driving defensively! Need to watch out for jabbed folks having health events behind the wheel as well! I mean those pilots from British Airways –

    And then stateside:

Lord we need to start keeping an eye above us too while driving.

Note – remember to check “fact checkers” and who they work for at all times!
