The Barre Unified Union School District announced this week that starting April 1, all students can now access a free meal for dinner.
These meals will be handed out to students during dismissal time and also on meal delivery bus routes. The BUUSD serves Barre City and Barre Town. Families can also pick up their child’s free dinner meal by going to the outside cafeteria entrances at the city elementary/middle school and Spaulding High School, or the main entrance at the town middle/elementary school from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
BUUSD announced March 15 that the U.S. Dept. Of Agriculture has extended the school district’s waiver to provide free breakfast & lunch to the children of Barre through September 30. Previously, the waivers were set to expire on June 30. In October 2020, the USDA announced free breakfasts and lunches for all U.S. schools throughout the 2020-21 school year. Over the next few months, the district will be releasing details on our summer food service program.
