Bishop Jethro James, legal pot opponent from NJ, to speak in Winooski

Wednesday 12/4: Bishop Jethro James from N.J. will attend the community dinner at the O’Brien Community Center in Winooski @ 5:50 -7:00 PM. Bishop James is a well-known leader and highly-regarded voice for how marijuana use impacts communities, especially minority communities. The event is open to the public.

Bishop James successfully led the grassroots effort to defeat ‘tax and regulate’ marijuana in New Jersey last year. Despite having support from the governor and the legislature, it failed after thousands of New Jersey residents – including many African-American mothers – insisted that retail marijuana stores would strengthen the already powerful ‘drug culture’ in their communities.
