Guv to narrow candidates for Phosphorus Reduction Initiative

Governor’s Weekly Press Conference to Detail Projects Moving to Stage Three of the State’s Phosphorus Reduction Initiative

At his weekly press conference, Governor Phil Scott will be joined by leadership from the agencies of Agriculture, Commerce and Natural Resources to announce the projects that will move on to stage three of the Vermont Phosphorus Innovation Challenge.

The program was launched in 2018 to identify and nurture untapped solutions to address the state’s phosphorus imbalance. Out of 27 initial applicants to VPIC, six groups were awarded funding to progress to stage two of VPIC. Stage two funding was awarded in September of 2018 for groups to engage in business case development and technology prototyping. On Thursday, the administration will announce the projects moving into stage three.
