14-year-old drowning victim remembered

The community of Fairfax and beyond is coming together to honor the life of 14-year-old Maameyaa Ntiriwaa, affectionately known as “Pinky,” who tragically passed away in a drowning accident at Kennedy Pond in Windsor on July 2 during a camping trip with family friends.

A public viewing will be held on Thursday, July 17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Fletcher Elementary School, 340 School Rd, Fletcher.

Funeral services, organized by A.W. Rich Funeral Home, will take place the following day, Friday, July 18, at 11 a.m., also at Fletcher Elementary School, followed by a graveside service.

In tribute to Pinky’s vibrant personality and her favorite color, the family is encouraging all attendees to wear as much pink as possible.

A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at the Community Center in Fairfax. Organizers are asking the community to plan accordingly, as a large turnout is expected.

Pinky leaves behind her mother, father, and two brothers. She is remembered as a “sparkling light” whose warmth and joy touched the hearts of many.
