A New York teen was charged with negligent operation for driving 113 MPH on I-89 in Berlin Sunday night, state police say. 

At about 10:30 pm, state police  stopped the car for traveling 113 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. traveling 113 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. Operator Payton Kittsley, 19, of Pleasantville NY was taken into custody for negligent operation. He was transported to the State Police Barracks in Middlesex for processing. Kittsley was released on a citation for Negligent Operation and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Superior Court April 28.

Drunk driver collides with police cruiser, police say

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 59-year-old woman from North Concord was arrested for DUI March 11 after her car crashed into a police cruiser, state police say. 

Authorities say they were notified of an intoxicated woman operating a motor vehicle while attempting to pick up her child from Northeast Kingdom Human Services on Portland Street in St. Johnsbury at around 4:50 p.m.

When troopers arrived on the scene, the driver reversed her vehicle into a state police cruiser, causing damage.

The driver was identified as Maria Morse. While speaking with Morse, police say they detected signs of impairment.

Morse was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. After processing at the barracks she was detoxed at NERCF.

Barre man busted for bank robberies

BURLINGTON — A man police believe is responsible for two bank robberies in Burlington and Essex Junction has been arrested.

Dustin Dexter, 31, of Barre City, is alleged to have robbed the People’s United Bank in South Burlington. He is also accused of robbing KeyBank in Essex Junction.

Dexter was located at a residence in Burlington on Tuesday. Police took him into custody, and say evidence connected to the robberies was collected at the scene.

Police later learned Dexter had two outstanding warrants for his arrest as well.
